ildren Juma is an MSc student at the University of Nairobi presently. Mildren joined KENWEB in 2020 following her Bachelor’s degree in Natural resources from Karatina University. She’s participated in KENWEB field research in the rivers draining into Lake Victoria Basin system, contributing to freshwater biodiversity surveys and analysis. Under KENWEB’s outstanding mentorship, She been able to improve on her research skills especially in the ecological techniques, field assessments and scientific writing which lead to her receiving a Berlin World Wild conservation Scholarship, awarded by Zoo berlin and Tierpark Berlin, which recognized her exemplary contribution towards filing the knowledge gap of Transboundary Mara River ecosystem as her part of her graduate project in pursuit to completion of her final year of her Master of Science in Biology of Conservation. Mildren collaborates with KENWEB in wetland’s research initiatives and peer learning programmes.
