CAPACITY BUILDING
KENWEB is committed to nurturing the next generation of wetland scientists, conservation practitioners, and environmental leaders. Through a strong emphasis on mentorship and hands-on, field-based, laboratory and publication learning, we provide students and early-career researchers with opportunities to engage directly in biodiversity assessments, ecological monitoring, data analysis, and scientific writing and fundraising. These experiences are designed not only to build technical skills, but skills but also to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and confidence in applying science to real-world conservation challenges.
Our capacity-building approach goes beyond training to include long-term mentorship pathways, where students are guided through research design, fieldwork, publication processes, proposal writing and career development.
