tieno Kashim Oginga is a fisheries and aquatic ecology researcher with experience in fish biology, aquaculture systems, and freshwater ecosystem management. works as a Research Fellow at the National Museums of Kenya and as a Part-Time Lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). His work focuses on sustainable fisheries, conservation of native fish species, and the application of scientific tools such as environmental DNA (eDNA) to assess biodiversity and genetic integrity of fish populations. He has contributed to research and training initiatives aimed at strengthening aquatic resource management and food security in Kenya. His broader interests include climate-resilient aquaculture, ecosystem restoration, and community-based conservation.
