Personal Experience

I

am a Research Scientist at the National Museums of Kenya with a strong passion for freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity conservation. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Limnology at the University of Natural and Life Sciences, BOKU specializing in population genetics of Haplochromine cichlids in Lake Victoria, where my research focuses on understanding genetic diversity, population structure and evolutionary dynamics to support evidence-based conservation and management strategies.

As a freshwater ecologist, my work centres on aquatic biodiversity, ecosystem health and fish ecology, with particular interest in how environmental change influences freshwater species and habitats. I have experience in field sampling, laboratory analysis and data interpretation. I am committed to advancing scientific knowledge that contributes to sustainable management of inland waters.

I am motivated by collaborative research, capacity building and applying science to real-world conservation challenges, especially within African freshwater systems.
